Default Color schemes

Ok, I know/believe the color schemes (see attached) are done in Photoshop, but just how do you do it? Where do you get the little planes in Photoshop and how do you bring the scheme to full scale?

The attached color scheme was one of richx1 for his SSE

Most of what you see posted are either scanned from the kit instruction manual and (possibly) cleaned up, or drawn in a graphics program. There was a thread started a couple months ago of posted 2 and 3 view templates like these for various kits, but it seemed to have died pretty quickly.
