I am having too much fun with my second plane.
I was a student RC flyer just a couple of months ago. Since I soloed, I have been to the field 5 days a week and have been flying as much as I can....dun tell my boss.
I have recently begun flying my second plane (H9 Super Stick .40).
You guys, (and many of my club's members), were right.....trainers really are not the easiest planes to fly. Although they are perfect for beginners like me, they fly like.... motorized balloons in comparison to a stick plane.
I am having a blast and will soon need advice on where to find a 12-step program for RC addiction.
Thanks, forum members, for helping me get to the point where it's fun to go to the field and fly. I really hated waiting for an instructor to be available / willing to give me a lesson. Don't get me wrong, I had a great instructor and I owe him a HUGE debt of gratitude for helping me learn to fly RC, (he's a great guy too)... but I like the freedom of my OWN flying schedule!!
The weather here has been perfect and I have been flying every weekday with few exceptions for like 2 1/2 months!!
I can't wait for Monday!!

Must be nice living in CA. I have the exact same addiction as you except I live in Omaha. [:@]
I have been taking my electric's out when it's 5 degrees & my fingers would get so numb I could barely land.
I offered up a gallon of fuel to the instructors at my local club & one met me on a couple days that were above freezing. I solo'd after 2 "lessons" & have been flying my nexstar every day I think I can get my engine started.
Today it was up to 45 (heat wave) but we had 20mph winds. Guess where I was... You got it, at the club slow flying the nexstar. (& it came home in one piece)
I'm putting the finishing touches on my Sig Somethin Extra & can't wait for a nice day to maiden it. I hope I don't have to wait a few months!!! [:'(]
The first step to any addiction is admitting that you have an addiction...

Congratulations on mastering your Super Stick 40. I've had a Super Stick 60 for about 6 years. It's had several engines. Right now it has a Saito 91. It's a blast.
I also have two Ultra Stick 40's with Saito's on them. They are really great considering the cost and the fun.
Enjoy,
Jim
