Your thinking of buying a turbine jet![sm=greedy.gif] wow I don't know nothing about turbine jets <<Sorry>> [sm=confused.gif] But I've seen some crazy videos about them... Good Luck

F18, since you are new here, I will be gentle. Many would consider you a 'troll', or somebody that posts something to receive some kind of reaction, be it positive or negative (though it is the latter that most associate with 'trolling').
You have a total of 16 posts, and many of those are in the threads you started, like the 'licensing' one, and the 'can you fly anywhere' thread. You are obviously a beginner, and yet you are asking about jets already? Are you aware that you MUST have a waiver from the AMA to fly a turbine jet? Why? Because they can kill in an instant and can inflict serious property damage.
Trollers will get a bad reputation on these boards. If you are seriously asking about jets, then I would suggest shelving that idea until you have several HUNDRED or THOUSAND hours of glow fuel time on trainers all the way to advanced prop planes and ducted fans. THEN, it MIGHT be time to consider a jet.
Sincerely,
Randy
*EDIT*
PS, I'm not trying to be harsh, but rather stopping other beginners from thinking they can go with a trainer, then it's turbine time.

You know what would be quite funny (AND DONT EVER DO THIS, WHOEVER IS A BEGINNER, AND DONT FLAME ME FOR THIS), if the people reading this just wrote, go for it. Let him learn his lesson. Let him buy the turbine, have no clue how to build it and how to assemble the turbine engine, go to the field with it, come back home empty handed (they wouldnt even let him fly it anyway). Even though i was one of those people (not exactly, but always asking questions like: What should i master flying before getting my first warbird?) i understand the anger involved when reading these posts, but lets not forget that we are dealing with a beginner who is just as curious as we all were. I understand where he is coming from, and yeah, what he wrote was immature and im guessing he is still a kid. (no offense if your not). So lets give him the information that he needs:
1) Subscribe to the AMA. AMA stands for academy for model aeronautics and what it does is it deals with government issues that eventually gives us the right to fly model planes in special fields.
2) Go to a field near you. A field is a place where you can fly your plane under the guidance of proffesional instructors who will give you lesson on how to fly and its probably free.
3) Get a trainer and fly it for a long time. A trainer is not a jet, but a plane with a high wing flat bottom wing such as the Tower HObbies Trainer, availale at towerhobbies.com Ready to fly for 270$.
4) After you master your trainer and are bored with it. Come back to this site and well help you from there.
Just my advice.

Sorry guys, he's in Canada. No AMA. No AMA waivers. I don't know if they have equivalent rules in Canada. You all know that unless he gets some training and practice beforehand that this will be a one flight bird. Odds are he will miss all of us. [:@]
Seriously F-18, start with a trainer and work up sloooowly. Hey, prop planes are fun too.

Wait, Tim01, i was a little confused when i read your previous post. So you are F-18 and Tim01 in the same body? Because if that is true, its a VERY bad idea. Making up multiple user names and asking extreme question such as a troll is a bad idea and the moderators wont be happy at all. Make one and stick with it. I understand where you are coming from, i used to be all voer the place in this forum, but after some experience with the real deal, you will refrain with the questions.
Just my warning,

Tim01,
In the 1/2 forum there's thread on a small trainer. It's up to 24 pages now and a lot of great information to be learned just from reading it regardless if you'd build the plane. Here's the link:

F-18,
On the same thread are a couple of regulars who live in BC, Canada and can probably give you a bunch of info on the Canadian regulations.
