OK,
I promised myself I would get a new transmitter after I soloed. I soloed last year and saved some pennies in a jar...(a jar that my wife has only cursory knowledge of). I could have gotten it a bit cheaper, but the LHS I get my bigger items from has earned my business, so I got it there.
My question is, although I will read the manual and familiarize myself with this thing, are there any hard learned lessons from those of you who have one?
I can see already that there is no obvious kill button, but lots of shiny switches and a big display screen.
I do like the feel of this thing, but I can't imagine an 85 year old retiree carrying it around for very long, (weighty.....I LIKE weighty).
This is more radio than I need right now, but.....it's just so darn purdee.
I must begin reading....and reading...and...

I have no personal experience with it myself but it looks to be a fine radio. As for the weight, use a neck strap.

Bruce,
Thanks for your reply. I know that there are many positive reviews of this radio, but I was hoping to draw on the experience of other users and maybe get a shortcut or hint or two. I have a feeling that the beginners forum is not the place for this question.
I am so used to posting all of my questions here that I forgot that there are many other forums which are specific to content.
I still think I only like the 9303 cuz it's purdee....moves the servos just as good as my Airtronics, but my Airtronics TX has only 4 model memory and they are all occupied.
Having read some of the manual and played with it a bit, it's fairly straight-forward and I think it's unlikely that there are many 'glitches' which are not covered by the manual.
