My first flight will be this week-end, any advice ?

If you are flying from a typical field then there is no store nearby. If thats the case bring at least 2 litres of something to drink such as pop, water, or maybe a coffee thermos. Its amazing how flying can turn a thirst on. Also bring a hat. The plane is up in the air and if you tilt the plane toward the sun you don't want to lose sight of the plane. A big brim aussie type hat works best because it will also keep the sun off your neck. The worst type is a baseball cap. You might also want to consider sun screen as this an outdoor in the sun type of hobby. Plan the trip so that you don't have to leave in a hurry. A first days visit can easily take up the whole morning. Its very annoying when you are trying to teach a new flyer and he keeps looking at his watch. Have fun! [8D]

Have all your batteries fully charged and get there on time especially if your plane still needs saftey checked for a maiden, could be some loose ends your instructor and you will need to take care of. And as said listen learn and most of all have fun

Relax, have fun, and BREATHE. If you feel overwhelmed tell the instructor. Communication is the key to being able to learn. Keep your first few flights in the 5 minute range. Trust me 5 minutes will seem like 15 minutes until you get used to it.

Don't get frustrated or discouraged when you realize it isn't as easy as the old timers makeit look. You should quickly get the hang of it. Relax - this is FUN. Don't be afraid to ask questions - lots of them.

Dont fly any later than like 4pm...after your first flight you wont be able to fall asleep for 10 hours...i promise!!

You'll be fine. Remember, altitude is control by power (throttle). Pitch is controlled by elevator.

Your instructor will walk you through the whole process. Have fun, enjoy it and let us know how it turns out.

Also look around once in a while you will see all different Kinds of airplanes and field boxes (a r/c Pilots tool box) I've spent a week desighning mine and I'm not finished yet. Here are a few Ideas: folding Legs, maybe, wheels (if it becomes too heavy), I may even put skiis on mine, drawrs,etc. Or you can take a short cut by buying yours. Also Ask about the different tools and thing in their field box. I've only flown once and that was in California and I live in Canada and they were very proud of me and he even let me fly his Hell cat on my second flight, So if and they will congradulate you on your efforts. Lastly Practice, Practice, Practice, When you get home compare your flight to the one on the simulator also if you don't have one imagine you are with you TX in your hand. WHAT EVER YOU DO HAVE FUN. If you have had plenty of practice on a sim it takes the edge of your first flight.

I did about month on aerofly pro then bought a Multiplex easyglider (powered version) my first flight was a dream, even manged to land it near my feet.
