From his participation here, he seems smart, so one out of two ain't bad.

Edit: I've never met Ken and have not seen any pics of him, so remember the subject line of the thread!

I do find it a little suspect now that you mention it chuck, that in every pic posted by ken in his build thread we only see his hand & fingers. I'll go down to the post office & see if I can get a full face pic of the posters on the wall. [X(]

I'll tell you all this right now, be prepared to loose your lunch. Here are a few recent pics (this week in fact). Sorry if they are a little grainy, they were taken from a video capture.

And before any of you Einstein's out there, yes there is video of the Barbie plane coming!!!! I'm just waiting to get the video back from the guy who shot the tape. Should be tomorrow or sunday and I then I'll post it.

Bruce of course you are welcome but now I am wondering what you have done to want to cover your tracks by buttering up us moderators. HAW

Ok Ken, I think we need to take a look at Bruce's posts of the last few weeks.

I'm not gonna hammer on Ken to bad. He is designing graphics for me for my Yak, besides if I get him upset, he'll screw up his IP re-addressing scheme and I'll have to fix it for him.

Told ya Ken I wasn't gonna hammer on you too bad

Welp, now I know who to avoid in Toledo. I see the Super Stearman in the first pick. Is that the one you were asking me about?

Bubba,
Yep, that was the one that I was asking you about a few weeks ago. He has the standard Zenoah G-26 on it. We had an interesting trim flight on it. On take off it jumped off the ground and almost stalled. Flying too about half of the down stick to keep it in level flight, and we almost didn't get it back to the ground. Back in the shop showed the top wing had about 15° positive incidence. Couple of days of looking showed that the outer struts were labeled wrong. The arrow that point forward was on backwards. These pics are from the second trim flight on it. Man, what a nice flying plane. Drool, drool, slobber, slobber, I want, I want!!!! But since I just ordered the G-38 for the Decathlon yesterday I know that I have to wait awhile before getting another big plane!!

Mark,
Actually, I'm trying to catch up on all of my graphics work today. I'm taking a very needed day off today. I've been getting a bit edgy and cranky the last week or so. So my wife took my cell phone so I won't be tempted to answer it. So all I have to do today is vinyl, the PIF build thread, and start work on my new project!!

I didn't think they were using IP in OK yet? I heard they just upgraded to sneakernet.

Nope, we're not the advanced yet. We still use smoke signal internet. In binary, one puff of smoke is a zero and two puffs of smoke is a one. We're going to upgrade next month to tin cans with string between them!!!!

Lol Ken I turned my cell phone off long ago! I only turn it on when I want to call someone with it. Other than that I hate that thing anymore. I could get along just fine without the bill too. If we all cancelled our cell phones we could buy an extra airframe a month just from the money we saved from the cell phone! I'm a genious.

15 degrees, WOW. I'm zero-zero on mine which accounts for me not being able to 3-point the puppy very well, but it sure does wheel land nicely. It just does not look right without the wheel pants though. Now he needs smoke, this plane screams for smoke and also add some scarfs to the pilots.

Here is mine for those of you who have not seen it. Mine comes out only on nice days when we are doing demonstrations. These pics are from the first day just before the maiden before the scarfs were added.

RCIgnitions G26
Slimline Smike muffler
TME SmartSmoker smoke pump
Hitec 5645's all around.
In the following pics I have the interlinks installed but have since changed it to 4 aileron servos. Total weight is 14lbs but Belia 18X6 prop and the Zenoah haul it well plus the prop matches the color scheme perfectly. A Mezjlik 18X6 works better but just does not look right on the plane. Remeber this is a show plane built to impress. You need to see these things in person, they are NICE looking

While I've seen these picks before Bill, they still make me drool, and you're right, the wheel-pants do make a huge diference. But she's still purty!

elenasgrumpy,
Unfortunately I can't do without my cell phone (although I would love to try to). It's a business phone, so I have to have it. A lot of people tell me that it must be nice to not have a boss (my wife and I own the business), but that's not really true because everybody that we send and invoice to is a the boss, so we have bunches of them!!!!!

Bubbagates,
Both him and I have searched RCU and haven't found any others that had the same problems with the struts, so we figure that it must have been somebody in the factory having a bad day and put the stickers on backwards. We give my buddy a hard time because he cost a bunch of money here. He bought the Stearman with the G-26 in it, and another buddy got the gas bug and bought the GP Pitts and a G-45 to go on it, so of course I had to put the Decathlon on the board with a G-38 on it!!!! [X(] [>:] I'm actually really excited about this project because I'm going to finally experiment with Minnflyer's smoke system. I think this will be a great platform for smoke!!! We'll see.

I stil have my original tin cans and string around here somewhere. I'll ship them out to you tomorrow so you can save a few bucks. Did you want me to pre-configure them for DHCP or would you rather me do static addresses and routes?

What's a "cell phone" Is that the little thing that is in my pocket that vibrates now and again. Am I supposed to do something with it when it vibrates [&:]. Dang, just when I was enjoying it now I have to answer it...RATS...[:@]

As far as the Stearman goes:

Actually, I think the addendum they have regarding the measurements for the Aileron interlinks being wrong mention the arrows on the struts. It may also be in the manual. I do remeber seeing it somewhere

I know I gave Minnflyer a pretty detailed rightup on mine when he asked about putting his 32cc on his. A 32cc on this thing will be unreal.

I remember you saying he is costing all of you money with having that plane. Yep, the gas bug bit me too. I'm down to my Showtime with a YS110 and my second CG Sukhoi with a YS140. I own two of the Sukhois, one with the glow and the other with the gas engine.

Current gas planes are

GP Super Stearman (G26)
GP Ultimate 160 (Brison 3.2)
WH Ultimate (DA50)
GP Cap232 (Fuji 43)
CG Sukhoi (G26)
Aerotec Yak-54 (DA-50)

The next one is going to be the PA Edge540 or the WH Edge540. Gotta love gas, way cheaper to run and unless you have a smoke system installed, NO cleanup

Can you tell I'm proud of my "toys"

That's exactly why I want to go gas. I looked at my bill last year for glow fuel and I just about choked!!! Yes, I know that you're bill was higher last year, but you have to realize that the biggest motor that I ran last year was an OS 91 4-stroke!!! [X(][X(] And it spent half of the year on the repair table. I've got a YS 120 that I'm going to hang on to, but anything new that's bigger than that is going to be gas from now on!!!!!
