I have a question about landing gear for a H-9 T-34 arf. I have been flying my nexstar for two years and last winter I bought and built a T-39 arf by H-9, my first arf. I thought it was ready to fly last summer, but never did. I found out about RCUniverse the first of this year and boy was the T-34 NOT ready to fly. I have been given a ton of info. about things to check and change rather than the way the instruction say. That info. was a huge help.
However I am teaching my self how to fly for the most part. I did fly the T-34 for the first time today, solo. All I can say is OMG compared to the nexstar. Everything went great, take off, once in the air I had to trim it a little and then it was off to the races with rolls and just a lot of fun. I love it. I am still shaking a little, but smiling.
I only flew for about ten minutes and then I was going to land it to check everything out and make sure it all looked good. I'm sure when I came in I was to hot, but it looked like a real good landing to me. However the front, nose gear, was removed by the landing and the landing gear on the wings were bent. Someone said I should change the landing gear first before I even fly it. I am asking for suggestions on what type and make of landing gear I should buy.
I should add that the only damage was to the landing gear and a small tear in the covering were the front landing gear came off right by the firewall at the bottom of the plane. Never even damaged my prop. If you think of any other info. I should know please tell because this plane will go back up and I can not wait.

Change the (most likely) 1/8" main gear wires to 5/32", that will make it less likely to flex/bend. For the nose gear get a Fults set.

Put some 1/2" tristock backing on the firewall to strengthen it up. If you have to remove covering and balsa on the main gear mounting blocks, you should put some tristock on the supporting gearblock/wing rib junction as well. Most ARFs are weak in this area.
First off, though, the stock gear provided is way too flexible, you need to increase the diameter of the wire.
