second plane purchase
hey everybody,
I've been looking to get a second plane for a while now, and just ordered the Phoenix Models Super Decathlon from tower hobbies along with a magnum .52 four stroke to power it. does anybody in here own a super decathlon or has ever flown one? how do they fly. this is also going to be my first tail dragger. hopefully I made the right choice by getting this plane...

RE: second plane purchase
A new guy at the field showed up with one with a 70 four stroke. I thought he was in for trouble. But amazingly, he did just fine inverted engine and all.
The Decathlon has no dihedral and pretty much a symetrical wing. It's supposed to be hard to fly. I never flew one but this guy sure did fine with his.
Enjoy,
Jim

from what I've been reading people have been putting much larger engines in it than whats called for. I hope the .52 isnt under powered..

It will fly nicely with the 52 -- better than a real Decathlon. It won't have a ton of vertical, but it isn't a pattern plane.
