Default Looking for an instructor in Houston

Hi everyone,

I just purchased a SuperStar 40 and am eager to learn how to fly it. I'm looking for an instructor in Houston that can give me a lesson Saturday morning.

Check with the Bayou City Flyers. I'm not sure of their web address, but you can "Google" it. They have a great facility out at Scobee field in George Bush Park way out west on Westheimer.

I live in the Medical Center, close to the dome. Would be great if I could find something close by. I've only been able to locate about 7 fields in the Houston area.

Northwest Houston Radio Control Club has a field on the west side of town. See our website at nwrcc.com. Our monthly meeting is this week on Thursday at 7:30. We meet at Valley Ranch Bar B Que on 249 @ Spring Cypress. The web site will tell you a lot. We have people who are designated as Instructors. Some of us other crazies will help you too, however the instructors are best. You won't find anyone better than Charlie D to teach you. He taught me. Your plane gets a thorough going over before the first flight and he really wants to see you do well. Good luck.

Plan on more than "A lesson," though. Maybe even two .
Seriously, though, you're probably looking at a minimum of a few weeks of training, maybe even a few months--depending upon your quickness to learn and develop the skills. However, you are absolutely doing it the right way, and I wish you luck!

Well, I'm way north of Bush. There are two clubs just east of Lake Houston up here. There is a very nice field in Crosby. Not too far, just jump on 10 to FM2100. I don't know if anything is closer. Scooby Field, the city site is over around 290 and the Belt. I really don't know the fileds on the south side of town. Hang on, someone will find this thread that lives near you.
