Default installing blind nuts

I am attempting to replace the blind nuts used to hold my wing on my cedar hobbies sport stick. The hole is drilled out large enough for them but when i try toget them to pull in it just seems to spin and chew the wood on the underside and not set in...any tricks to this thanks in advance Kieth

use a bit of tite bond 2 or elmers wood glue (asumeing they are going into wood) on the hole and smear some around where the barbs will stick into the wood, in my experience this will help strengthen the wood for a better hold. if not and the wood is balsa, the blind nut could strip out some wood and ruin the wood.
