Default 4 Stroke spinner adapter?

This is my first 4-stroke, a Saito 82. I just got an aluminum spinner today at the hobby shop for it and they told me I needed an adapter which he sold me.

I feel kind of stupid, but what parts go where? There are no instructions included with neither the spinner nor the adapter.

I assume that the parts that came with the spinner are for a 2-stroke type of shaft. Those parts are lined up under the spinner in the picture. The three parts that came with the "7mm Pro Spin Nut and Busing" set are lined up under there. And, then to the right is my engine.

Ultimately, the engine and spinner is going into my Ultimate 40.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

tychoc

first if your backplate fits your shaft then you can forget about the two little round shinny things , they are to adapt your backplate to your shaft if the hole in the backplate is to big.

so now put on your prop and then the washer and then the regular looking nut and then the long nut, tighten and your ready to install your spinner, put the screw in and tighten and if it dont tighten up nicely he gave you the wrong adapter, if it does then congrats

good luck!!

gjeffers:

Tanks for the clue. I guess now I don't feel too bad because he sold me the wrong adapter. Neither of the brass bushings fit my engine shaft, so I can't get the backplate on.

Thanks,

tychoc

first your lock nut is backwards on your prop shaft, some adapters dont need a lock nut, they serve the same pourpose yours doesnt look like it though. first back plate ,prop, washer, main nut, lock nut, then adapter. if all this fits inside your spinner check the attachment screw some will be a little long sometimes .if it is then go to ACE hardware and get a shorter one simple. they usually have a good selection of cap head screws just bring your adapter nut and screw to check for proper threads. the lock nut should have the wedge portion twards the propeller if your adapter has this wedge you shouldn't need the lock nut. on four strokes make sure the nuts are tight they can loosen up sometimes

tychoc, try what Tim is saying, put the main nut, then lock nut, then adapter, see what happens, may work.

although when i get adapters from tru turn you dont use the lock nut, only the main and adapter nut, otherwise they are too much stuff on there
