Default CA on Covering

Well here is a newbish thing to do even after flying for over a year....

I got a little overzealous with some CA and it ran onto the covering. Any good way to get it off? Will debonder take it off without harming the covering? Or should I just let it sit and flake off eventually?

I've had good results using a little acetone on a rag.

I'll second the acetone. I always keep a bottle handy. Just watch out on the older ARF's with the sticky vinyl covering. Sometimes the color scheme will run off. I've had no problem on Monokote or Ultracote.

It's ultracote so shouldn't be a problem them. Thanks!

I used debonder on blue monokote with no problem. I would try to find a small spot behind the cowel or somewhere inconspicuous & test it to make sure it doesn't cause any problems.

Hey, tuwood, you ought to look for acetone the next time you're in a home improvement or hardware store. It's very much cheaper than debonder. I think a quart is just a couple of bucks. And it's got other uses. For example, it thins epoxy WAY BETTER than drug store alcohol does.

Will do.
I have a bottle of debonder I bought a while back & have got quite a bit of mileage out of it. When it runs out I'll try some acetone.
