Hey Sal & Apward, just wandering how things were going....wondering if you guys have been flying. I broke my foot a couple of weeks ago so I've been homebound.....Doug hasn't been out flying either.......let me know how things are going.

Hi folks. I'm still waiting to get off the ground. I did take the trainer to Boyce park and taxi it around a bit last Saturday. Had no trouble starting the engine now I have an electric starter and Chris Reiter's excellent guide to engine running in. I burnt off 3 tanks of fuel and got the engine ticking along fairly smoothly.

I bought myself a twin speed 400 park flyer at the weekend and am busy putting that together. I'm hoping I'll be able to practise on that until spring if I ever work out what the German kit instructions mean. Luckily there are a lot of pictures.

What did you kick?

Well he doesn't have a dog. His 10 year old nephew tackled the wimp playing football. I'm sure he'll tell you some other sotry though.

Glad to heard you're doing well Apward. Ha ha ha.....the ground kicked me.....I was playing football with my newphew and his buddies and my brother in law.....jumped up and must have landed wrong...I didn't even know I broke it for 2 days.......I figured something was wrong when I couldn't get out of bed without falling on the 2nd day
Twin speed 400? Is that the Graupner jet? Sounds kind of fast.....be careful with that one!
Don't count out flying until spring....like Doug said, if the weather permits, we'll probably be out there the day after Christmas...

Ouch.

The plane's the Wingo Porter. It's a little foam thing. To be honest the little jumper fellow was the reason I bought it. He looks sooooo cool.

ohh...I see....well that shouldn't be bad....just remember to let it gain speed after you hand launch it before you try to turn.

Apward, I assume that the engine running went well by your post, I was wondering a couple of days ago if you had got her running or not. Happy Flying!

Hope you get out too Sal. We'll be looking forward to seeing you on the 26th if we can make it. Once you solo you won't have to wait for someone to meet you at the field to fly. It's still recommended that you take someone with you so you're not alone at the field in the unfortuneate case of an accident.

Good luck today

I did my first landing yesterday......it wasn't perfect but the plane is still in one piece. And I loved it. After that, I did about 8 more landings, a couple were rough but most of it were smooth. Next time I should be able to solo. All I wanna do is to fly, I think I am addicted to it .

If you can land you can take off. Landing is the harder of the 2 I thought. You have to worry about keeping it in 1 piece when you land. Take-offs you just need groundspeed.

LOL doug

That is true, I think my first flight there was more praying with my eyes closed than concentrating on my trainer.

Sal --

What field are you flying at? ARCS or Midway?

ARCS, haven't had a chance to fly at midway yet. Will you guys be going to midway on the 26th?

Great apward! If the weather is nice enough, we're going to go to the nicer field in Midway, PA. We'll make the decision the day or so before. We'll let everybody know where we are going, and if it is Midway, we'll give you and Sal directions, or we can meet right off of Rt 22/30

Wes, if we go to the ARCS, we'll have to give you directions there.
