Hi ,
I have a query on the point where people say that channel matching can be done between any two sets of same brand .
So if I buy a Futtab Tx I can buy any Futtaba Rx and pull out the crytals from both of them and put common crystals into them.
well Is there anything else I need to watch out before buying a Rx and Tx .
Is as simple as just pulling out a crystal from the slot of Tx and Rx or anything else you think I need to know or missing out ?
Thanks
Phoenix

You can't legally just pull a crystal out of a Tx. That breaking an FCC reg. If you're buying your transmitter and receiver seperately, just order them on the same channel. If you can't do that, get the Tx on the channel you want and order the right crystal for the Rx.

The transmitter can be changed to any channel, the channel you decide to use will determine what reciever you need. The receivers are either low band or high band. A low band reciever is one that originally was on a channel between 11 & 35, high band is from channel 36 to 60. The low band reciever can be changed to any channel from 11 to 35 & a high band reciever can be changed to any channel from 36 to 60, the transmitter can be changed to any channel from 11 to 60.
Hope this helps

In the USA, only transmitters with frequency modules or synthesizers can legally have their frequencies changed by the user. It is physically possible to switch Tx crystals but not legal. Receivers will accept any crystal legally but staying within its 'band' is highly recommended. Of course, if you're in India you will have to check local laws regarding the issue.
