Default the evolving nexstar

as a few of you guys know I posted a while back about my nexstar getting converted to a tail dragger ....I loved it when I did this mod .....so I have flown it for a while like th is ....and now I want something different ....so upon a lot of reading and looking I did the dual aileron servos and flaps .....and wow ...this thing is fun....you guys that have one think they land slow now .....add flaps and you can almost helicopter it to the ground........its roll rate was better than before.....but I wanted a little more ....so I went in and modified the wing.......yup it now has no dihedral .....and that my friend makes this a different plane ........some of you may ask ...why do this to a trainer when you can buy another plane that will do all of this and possibly better ......well because I wanted to see if I could ......and it is fun.........thank you to all of you who have helped along the way with your postings ...adn I will try to post more ......as well as get a few pictures of what it looks like now ......adn I can tell you the front view ...is totally different

and I still love my nexstar and will recommend it to anyone .........

I hope you sealed your aileron gaps, Little chinese guy no put sticky stuff in the torque rod channels on mine & they fluttered out on me last week, it got pretty hairy, I had to rudder it in from a long way out.[:@]

Probably my own fault, I haven't done the dual aileron mod, or the tail-dragger yet, but I did take out the dihedral & used britbrats suggestions of the tuned pipe, & the 2 3/4 in spinner. Just those few mods there turned it into quite the little hot-rod & I've been shredding it pretty hard ever since. With the single aileron servo it's no wonder I fluttered it out, probably stripped some gears in the servo too for that matter. But hey it's a Trainer, I'm supposed to abuse it right? Now I'm shredding it up with the Tower & it's amazingly aerobatic, allways nice to have a spare Trainer to throw around the sky! My budddy keeps egging me on to break out my low wing planes, but I've been having too much fun abusing these Trainers, I did maiden my Drgon Lady but I still like throwing these Trainers around because I can get just as bold as I want to with them & if I plant one, so what? I got more.

C'mon Grump, don't quit on the Nexstar, you're just getting started on it -- lots more potential there.

No my brother, I'm not given up on it, just gives me a reason to re-build it! But it is kinda on the back burner for now. I just spent all day getting my Dragon Lady, my Cap 232, & my Alpha Models Corsair, all dialed in. I'm finally getting that new JR radio figured out. I got all the Dual Rates & Control Throws programed into the JR complete with Flaperons on the Cap & the Aiefoil Z Yak 54. And I haven't even built it yet. Tomorrow I hope to get the Tequila Sunrise finished & the J3 programed too, then I'll build the Yak & hopefully by the end of the day I'll have 7 planes ready to fly including the Tower Trainer. That will allow me to strip the NexStar down completely & turn in into something completely new & different, with all the good mods. The only part I'm dreading is the re-covering!

I thought about being lazy & just re-epoxing the torquerod channel, but since I got so much done on everything else today, I changed my mind & am gonna go all out on the NexStar. It's just gonna take some time.
