Perfect example of what happens when orginazation and safety aren't a consideration at a flying field.

No pilot stations let the pilot stand right on the edge of the runway. No spotters with the pilot to let him know that the plane was coming. No annoucement of the landing pilot that he was coming down.

Wow, absolutely no safety involved there. The guy that was hit seemed to be OK and he was lucky and still had the presence of mind to get back to his plane.

While I agree completely with Ken and his assesment, the guy that was hit was not standing on the runway per say, the guy flying the trainer was way out of position on that approach and should have gone around instead of forcing the landing plus not even mentioning he was landing was just plain dumb. It's easy and only takes a second to yell out.

Looks like a severe case of the dumbass all around.

No "landing" warning.
Person standing on the runway.
No spotter.
Pilot didn't even GLANCE at the runway before setting up to land. I will give him credit, however. He DID see the guy at the last minute and tried to turn away.

Maybe he knocked him out with the plane that hit him, then stomped it into little pieces and spread the pieces all over the guy as he laid there unconcious

Even worse is that the only comments to the video posted were:

"LoL" and "ROTFL".

That video makes a great educational piece showing all the wrong things about a flying site. LOL The mowed runway looked only to be about 10' to 20' wide and the victum was standing right on the edge. The other pilot was at least standing back a little, but there is a bush that looks to be between the two guys that might block the view to the other pilot. It really looked like a sloppy downwind landing also, but I can't see any wind direction indicators. Oh ya, where's the windsock? It would be fun to see how many pilot violations and site non-conformities that can be counted there. There must be at least a dozen.

Couldn't have said it better myself. When you ask yourself, "What were they thinking?", pretty obvious that nobody there was thinking at all. I see it all the time, even at fields with flight stations well off the runway--just gotta stand on the runway, like you can't see your plane if you're any further away, and not enough forethought to think that the other guy is concentrating on HIS plane, how's he supposed to watch YOURS, too? (the answer............USE A SPOTTER). Oh, and it never hurts to communicate your intentions.

Like Dorsil said--not sure I want to fly there.
