Has anyone flown this plane before? How do you think it is for a begginer? Is it a good plane? Also can you take off from the ground with it?
any help is appreciated!

I too am interested in the Global Wattage 180, but have a couple of reservations that might be of help. First, the plane is quite small compared to other beginner craft, at 17 inches long and with a 24 inch span. I wonder how hard it will be to keep visual contact with it and how "nervous" it will be in any kind of breeze. The other concern I have is value for the price. While the RTF package at Tower is $119.95 that does not include a second battery nor a DC charger fo field use. While you could just buy another battery and charge it before you go out that really would limit your flying "day"...particularly if you have to travel any distance to the field. Global Wattage does make a DC charger (the PF12) but it is a $50 unit. According to the folks who answered my query at the firm, they do not have any alternate recommendation that might be cheaper and expressed the opinion that there are not any less expensive units that would handle "such small batteries" as the 180 comes with. When you add the cost of the PF12 and a spare battery you are up to over $180, at which point I suspect there are other, better options (but I'm still information gathering).
