Default Futaba servos

Hi all;
This is my first year back in the hobby after a long layoff. I started with a CG Tiger 60 ARF and a Futaba 7C. No problems with the radio install and all my old arms fit the new servos, (3151s). I'm just putting a H9 Cub ARF together and ordered a Futaba flight pack w/3004 servos. None of my old arms will fit the splines and the mounting grommets, (round), are a real pain to put through the holes. In fact the holes are just that, holes, not the notches I'm used to seeing in the past and that were on my new 3151s. The flight pack came with only one package of arms/gromets, enough for one servo. I contacted Tower and they're sending me 3 more.
What's up with this?

I don't know why your old arms didn't fit. As for why you were shorted in your flight pack? Mistakes happen, and then they get corrected by good companies like Tower.

The servo arms should fit. Futaba has changed the mounting grommets and not for the better.

Welcome back.

Thanks for the welcome!! Nope...they sure don't fit! They fit the 3151 but not the 3004. Everything looks the same, but it will not drop onto the post. I have some nicely trimed arms that I'd like to use.

Looks like Futaba has changed some other things, too. IMO, they're notorious for finding something that works well and then changnig it for the worse.

Complete agreement on this one. I really don't like the grommets on the 3004s.

They went from small round grommets to large rectangular (great) ones, and now to those thin two-piece things!!! [sm=thumbdown.gif]
