Hey guys,
I've got an e-flite 450 motor on my mini katana (90cm w/s aerobatic) with a Li-Ploy 11.1v 1500mAh. At the moment, i have a 10x4.7 APC prop on it. What 11" or 12" prop can i put on it to get the maximum flight time (efficiency)?
Cheers.

Hey again,
Yea, thanks for the info. I tried an APC 11x5.5 prop and when i was flying last week and gave off a weird sound. You know when you fly vertical until the plane slows down and starts falling back down but still with the nose pointing vertical, it makes a sound as if its cutting the air. Well, thats what the 11x5.5 sounded like, but all the way through.
Cheers

Have any of you measured the full power current with these props? I use an ammeter to check current draw every time I try a different prop.
I maidened my E-flite Mini Stick yesterday using the E-flite 450 890KV outrunner with 2100 mAh 3 cell lipo and with a APC 10x4.7. The motor was drawing about 16 amps at full power. An APC 9x6 also drew about 16 amps at full throttle. The literature that came with the motor rated it at 12 amps continuous and 18 amps for a 15 second burst. With these props already taking the motor current close to the abuse zone, I didn't even try the recommended 10x7 prop.
The power rating of an electric motor depends a lot on your definition of abuse.

Yea, havent tried using a multimeter, but i have just been using an APC 10x4.7 and seems to run the best. I think the e-flite 450 doesnt have enough torque to turn an 11x5.5.
Cheers,
