What is a good cleaner or homemade mixture for cleaning the oil residue off of covering on a plane. I have tried different brands of mainly glass cleaners and want something that well remove all the oil.

Simple green is pretty good stuff for just about any clean up, 409 seems to work well too. They both have some kind of grease cutters in them. I may have to give the ol' krud-cutter a try though. I had never heard of it either.

I found a product called "Terrific Orange Cleaner" - available at "Dollar Stores" and discount stores that works real well.
A real quick and good home brew can be made as follows:
Take an empty gallon jug. Add a pint of rubbing alcohol, about 4 ounces of ammonia and an ounce or so of liquid dishwashing soap. Then fill the jug with water and you have a really good cleaner.
The ammonia really does a good job of cleaning off oil residue.

Klumsy was close, winshield cleaner, amonia, and rubbing alcohol and a small squirt of dawn. One thing that nobody has mentioned is do NOT use paper towels on Monocote. Go to Costco or Sams and buy a buddle of terry cloth rags. It will save you alot of scatches on your Monocote, especially on dark colors.
