Tower sells many planes from other makers. Tower is part of Great Planes and other companies that also includes other mail order firms including Omni models.

Short list of other ARF planes:
Horizon Hobby distributes the Hanger 9 line of arfs

Global distributes the Global // Model Tech // and many electircs under the name wattage

MRC (Altech Marketing) distributes the EZ kits and the Enya engine line.

Sig produces some really nice ARF's (and kits) that are distributed by them and others.

RadioCraft has some of their designs available as ARF's (IMAC planes)

Aeroworks has kits and ARF's (including the new Ultimate Chip Hyde won the TOC with)

Tennessee Model products has an interesting line of ARC's that include some of the SPA (senior pattern association) and other aerobatic palnes and scale (AT-6 etc).

Morris Hobbies has several models in ARF version.

There are many others.

This may be exactly what you are looking for. I don't have one or know anybody who does but this seems like what you want.

Cermark Javelin II

Option 2: Enchanced Package, comes with factory installed GMS-47 2C glow engine w/muffler and 5 servos :$299.95.

Looks like all you would need to do is put a receiver in it.

The Oct. 2002 issue of RCM has a review of it

Hangar 9 makes a couple.

1) Xtra Easy

2) Alpha Trainer

I had first hand experience with the Xtra Easy. I really like this plane. It turned out to be a lot of fun.

Don't have any experience with the Alpha trainer, but I have heard a lot of good things abou it.

Good luck!

Hobbico.com sells the Superstar 40 Select which is an RTF, says you are ready to fly in 20 minutes.

Ouch! I didn't get the RTF, I bought the Superstar 40 ARF and it only took me 14 hours to put it together and make it flight worthy.
I bought it at a store and not online though so I could look at it and make sure it was ok, the covering is wonderful on mine and everything works the way it's supposed to, haven't had a chance to fly it yet, just got it last monday, hopefully I'll have good enough weather to fly it on New Years day.

I think you just got one of the few bad ones. Everyone else I've talked to about the Superstar say it's the best trainer out there.

Here's wishing you and yours a great New Year

Default RTF vs ARF

There certainly is a lot of difference in the two however many use these terms interchangeably. In all reality the ones I have seen and assisted with were less than perfectly ready to fly. Hope you found what you sought from the other posts.
