Default o-ring needle valve

I ordered a o-ring for my Hi speed needle , that goes to a Magnum 52 .
The o-ring wouldn't fit into the needle valve body. The o-ring had the
correct part #. The only thing I could figure was to screw the needle
into the valve body with the o-ring on it , until it went in. I greased the o-ring
first. The valve body cut the o-ring in half , circular wise.
The needle seats snug , but I haven't started the engine since.
Don't know if it's going to leak.
Should I of done something else before putting
the o-ring on to make it fit correctly ?

Looking at your pic's I can't see what the problem is... the O ring on the needle looks intact to me? was the needle leaking? if so the O ring on the needle is what seals up gap between the needle and vavle body... you also have a gasket between the valve body and carb. If you tried to fit the O ring into the valve body that's your problem... it don't go there. Slip/cut off the O ring on the needle and replace it with a new one by slipping it over the needle and letting it seat in the grove. If you want a temp fix take a piece of large fuel tubbing and slip it over the needle and valve body so that both the needle and valve body are sealed together... it works

I always tell people I ain't a stupid as I look.
But you never know.
Anyhow , thanks for replying.
I did put the o-ring in the needle groove and tried to
screw it into the body. The o-ring was to big for the body.
My instructor said it was the o-ring that was leaking.
You think they sent me the wrong o-ring in the package
label with the correct part # ?

Sorry Radcom, I didn't want to imply anything... what seems obvious to some of us somehow eludes others

It must have been the wrong O ring in the right package... I've replaced a few magnum O rings my self for the 46 and 52... everyone fit in the valve body just fine. If your down waiting for a new O ring try the fuel tube trick... I've found it works better on the magnums than the O ring, lasts longer and can be repaired at the field... a set of forceps/ fine needle nose pliers helps slip the fuel tube over the NV assembly.

Don't worry about my feelings , I know I'm dumber than a rock.
Thats what everybody tells me .
If it leaks again I will use the fuel line ,thanks for telling me
about that setup.
Well' I got to go to the store now and buy a light bulb repair kit.

The one I got from magnum was to big - used one left over from a thunder tiger package.
