Default Unexpected solo

I had been flying the Hobbico Nexstar on the buddybox for a few flights now. Just happened to overhear my instructor talking about how much easier flying the Hobbistar 60 is to fly so I went out and bought one. I already had an OS 65LA and had already purchased a JR 8103 in anticipation of future greatness, so it wasn't a big outlay of cash. First time I took it to the field, we flew the Nexstar first. Then my instructor inspected the Hobbistar and I suggested he take it up for test flight since no one else on the field had a JR xmitter that we could use as a buddy box. He handed the xmitter to me after he had it all trimmed out. It flew nicely. Much better than the Nexstar in the 10mph crosswind. Handed control back to instructor and he landed. After refueling, he suggested I try it all on my own. Was a bit nervous landing on my own but brought it down pretty damn smooth. Even had compliments on how smooth a landing it was. Had to pat myself on the back.

Oh-oh, this first solo almost snuck past us. Congratulations, just don't get cocky as there is still a lot to learn but you are on your way.

Shakey,
Hey there, wipe that silly grin off of your face!!!! Not really, keep the grin. We all have had it, heck I had it for about 3 weeks after I soloed!!!

A solo flight is a great accomplishment and that wins you one genuine RCU ATTABOY (Suitable for framing, wrapping fish, or lining trashcans).

SWEET!

The last guy I taught used the Hobbico-60 and the current guy I am working with has the Nextstar with all the crap on it and the Hobbico flew much better---

Congrats on the solo! What is your next plane gonna be? I really like the 8103, good choice!
