I have a question. I purchased an airplane with airtronics servos. I have a jr transmitter. I thought I could buy a jr reciever and plug the airtronics servos in and I would be good to go. But the connections dont match up. Could i use a airtronics reciever and jr crystal? Is there a connection conversion or something. Thanks in advance. Sorry for my ignorance in the radio area of this hobby.

No, you can't use different cyrstals in the receiver. You have to use the crystals from the same manufacturer. But it's as simple matter of changing the wiring in the servos to work with your receiver. Refer to the attached diagram to change the wiring. If you are referring to the "spines" on the top of the airtronics plugs being in the way from plugging into your JR wires, simply use a hobby knive to cut them off smooth with the plug. Then they will plug into your JR plug.

You can use an Airtronics receiver, since it's a positive-shift style system. Just be sure you use an Airtronics crystal. Receivers only like crystals from the same manufacturer. Or, you can buy servo adapters, or just buy some servo leads, and solder them to your servo.(Be careful, though, it takes a steady hand.)

You don't need to buy any adapters, or do any cutting and soldering. Just follow the diagram above and change two pins in the servo connector.
