Yes, now I have the full picture. I didn't understand apparently. My "bad." Too many G's on the wing probably did you in. Making the plane "heavier" on the wing increases the speed needed to fly it. Usually this is overcome (as you said) by the fact that you are heading toward the ground, thereby increasing speed through the maneuver.
Now I have a whole different picture of the incident. Not that it helps you any, though...LOL
I've done that maneuver before on a trainer, and it didn't survive--because the wing snapped.
