I am looking to add a fuel dot to a couple of my three line gas systems. Where can these be purchased from? The style I am looking for is like the one reviewed here:

how do these work? I'm assuming there is extra fuel line which is connected to the plug portion. When the plug is removed this extra section is pulled out allowing the fuel probe to be inserted, the plug is replaced and the whole thing stuffed into the female port?
Thanks for any help!

I just ordered some from PSP. They are very nice and come in many colors. They cost $3.99 each. It sound like you don't need a "T" fitting. If you do they are separate.

Personally, I really like the DuBro "Fill-It"
They just CA in place, and while they may not look as nice, they are much easier to grab hold of and they come with 4 different size plugs, a clunk and brass tubing for adding your third line.

I get the type of fuel dot you put the pic up of at the LHS for about 3 or 4 bucks. They work great. I have them on all my planes. They look good & they are very easy to use. As you said with a 3 line fuel system this line is your fill & empty line. I just cut this line so that it is long enough to pull out about 3 inches or so. The plug part has a little O-ring so that when you push it back in you feel it kind of lock into place. It stays there in flight too. I have never come back down to find the fuel line dangling around the cowl. Just drill the appropiate size hole to mount the female part in the side of your cowl & feed the fuel line thru it & put your plug in. I also put a clunk on the fill line inside the tank as well as the clunk on the feed line. This makes it easier to use it to empty the tank too. I like them much better than the Dubro Kwik fill fuel valve because there is nothing to go wrong. A friend uses those Kwik fill valves & has problems with them clogging up on him. This is a simpler way to go without any problems. IMO

Dave, Those are nice looking!! Unfortunately they want $5 to mail the thing. LOL I guess I will wait till I need a couple of them at least. I don't really want to spend $9 just for one. Too bad too because I really like the blue anodized one for my P-51 but I already have a couple of the polished aluminum ones that I can use. They look pretty nice too. I will like Ken, save that link though so thanks for putting it up. I'll look around the site to see what other trick stuff they have that I might need.

I've used the Kwik fill valves in a couple of planes. Those valves are at the bottom of a pond now. They were nothing but trouble for me. I tried them on several different planes and had problems with them on every plane. I use nothing but the fuel dots now.

Exactly right!! I don't know what it is going to take to make a believer out of my buddy John. He's had more problems with those things, in fact it seems like every time one of his engines doesn't want to run right by the time we take everything apart & start eliminating possible problems, it allways ends up that the valve is the culprit. He still buys & uses them religiously though.[&:] I think they have some kind of a one way diaphram in them that goes bad or something along that line, I'm not really sure. You won't catch me using them though!

Here's why I quit using them. One time I was filling up my plane with fuel and somebody walked up to talk to me. I pulled out the fueling probe and talked with my buddy. When I turned back I noticed a HUGE puddle on the ground. The fuel valve stuck open when I pulled the probe out and allowed everything in my tank to siphon back out on the ground. And it was a 24 oz tank!!!! [:@]
I went home that day and pulled them off of my plane and tossed them in the trash for good.

What I don't like about them is that One-of-a-kind Probe that is needed to fill it. I always lose them because not ALL of my planes need them. So I take it off, immediately lose it, and then I can't fly the plane I brought because I don't have the probe! [:@]

The shipping one one dot would be bad. I ordered 4 knowing I would need them later on. I also ordered a set of titanium axles and the cowl mount system. All of their stuff is top notch quality.
I will be trying the cowl mount system soon. I guess I should write a review after.

We usually "gang up" when ordering stuff like that. Whenever any of us order something we will call around to the flying buddies and see if anybody needs anything. This way we can save on shipping. We'll usually split the shipping charges between whoever orders. Or we use the "payback". I pay the shipping this time and then when someone else orders they pick up the shipping!!!
We do the same thing for trips to the LHS too. Our nearest LHS is 45 minutes away so when one of us goes we'll take orders and pickup for everybody. Or even better, we'll make a "road trip". When we do that we'll take one or two vehicles (depending on who's going) and drive down to the LHS. And since we just happen to go around lunch time (or course) we have to stop at this great Bar-B-Que place we know of!!!!!!

I agree completely. There is enough going on that I don't need something else to cause me to chase my tail. As with most things, the K.I.S.S. method usually is the best.

Only on one of my planes.
I have that H-9 setup on my large "Stangs". Makes it look like I know what I'm doing.
