Default Super glue HELP!!!!!!!

I have a question for all you kit builders. How do you keep your super glue useable between uses? It seems like I get one -2 uses out of it then the darn thing glues itself shut!!!!!!!!!!!

I just stick a T-pin through the opening and clear it. Some builders leave the pin in between uses. When needed remove the pin.

Use wood glue instead!!! If you must use CA then do as Dave said and put a pin in the top to keep it open.

I use the teflon tubes that Hot Stuff used to sell (bought a couple of cards of them from a going out of business hobby shop in the 80's.) Usually they don't plug, but if they do you just take your trusty #11 blade and cut off the clogged end. There are at least two sizes, very small for thin and larger for thick. I'm sure they must be available from some source today.

Clean the tip with a paper towel after every use, also hold upright and squeeze excess out of tip while your cleaning with towel, this will keep the glue out of your cap. Buy extra tips at the hobby store, and never store next to your accelerator.

I use an applicator and never cut the tip of my C/A bottles. I get the applicators at my LHS and they also help control my application of C/A.

A few more tips:

Avoid adding more CA to any area where you have used accelerator (Kicker). This puts the end of the applicator right where the accelerator is and since accelerator has a residual effect, it will quickly harden the CA at the tip of the tube.

To help you avoid areas where accelerator has been applied, use accelerator only when you HAVE to, and don't use the spray bottle for it - just dip a wire or piece of inner pushrod tubing in it, and dap the accelerator where you need it.

The next tip I have is - When you buy a new bottle of CA, take the tip off the old bottle and put it in a sealed jar of Acetone. When your new tip clogs, swap it with the old tip which will be clean as a whistle.

I have finally gotten to where I can make a tip last through a full 2oz. bottle.
Wipe off the tip after every use, if you do start to get buildup clean it off with debonder or acetone.
I have in the past just bough a few extra tips/caps (readily available from the LHS) and replaced the old tip with a new one when it got too bad.

Yeah those applicators do the trick for me.

The capilary tube is so small that the glue does not harden while in the applicator.

If it manages to do so, merely snip off a tiny bit of the tip, but this is rare.

One applicator lasts an entire bottle of CA.

No cover needed.

Yeah, it's slow but it works....

Take a rag and soak it in Acetone.

Keep holding it on the area that received the excess CA. The CA will soften.

At this point swipe a part of the rag on the area.

Move to another cleaner but Acetone soaked part of the rag and continue.

As you progress you'll notice that the CA will remove more quickly with each pass.

Keep at it. It may take you 10-15 minutes of doing this to remove everything, but you'll find that you can.

The rag does two things...

1 - It wicks and rubs off the softened CA
2 - It prevents the Acetone from evaporating as quickly.

You'll need to keep the rag or cloth wet with Acetone, and you'll find that it disappears very quickly...

He Is A Good Tip.If U Are In Close Quarters ,Like Installing Hinges. Before You Do The Finale Assembly Coat The Area Around The Surface With A Wax Crayon( Same Color As The Ship Is A Help)And The CA Will Not Stick To The Wax.Plus A Keep A Rag For Debonder Handy It Does Not Evaporate As Quick As Acetone.
Saved My Butt A Few Times.
