I recently began assembly of the Multiplex Easy Star. The foam wing halves(6,7) are attached to a slot in the upper fuselage using 'spar covers'(8,9) and a 'spar connector'(34) (graphite wing tube). Each half of the wing contains a channel into which each end of the spar connector is fitted and covered by a corresponding spar cover.
The difficulty is that the wing slot in the fuselage is a very tight fit, so much so that it seems the only way to get the wing halves into the mounting slot would be by a forced fit. According to the assembly instructions, the wing spar connector is fitted into each wing half, and each half is then slid into the right and left side of the fuselage wing slot to complete assembly. The assembly instuctions indicate the wing is not glued to the fuselage, but simply fitted into the fuselage using the spar covers and spar connector, in addition, there is a puzzle-like tab and slot which has to be fitted together to correctly orient the assembled wing. Supposedly, when the wing is assembled it will ready for flight, but can be removed for transport or for replacement in the event of crash damage.
This is at the very least, tricky. I am in need of some expertise on this airplane. Help ![img][/img]

well it seems to me that it is like the gliders you get... you slide the wings in and yes it is a force fit. you know how they pop out all them time? same concept on the easy star.. gotta be a tight fit.

Yes, the idea is just to force them in initially.
After that, they are totally fine also, there are no problems with them staying on the plane either.
