Walked in hobby shop today and new tiger60 built from kit;of course I bought it. I' still training on Sig Kadet Senior. I have nib OS61FX and used OS91FX(runs great) and nib OS70SurpassII. Which engine should I put in this Tiger 60. I'm leaning towards 61 or 91 2stroke. I will use plane as low wing trainer with instructor and then wear it out learning aerobatics. THANKS,RACJ

If it flies as good as my Tiger2 does, it'll be excellent with the 61FX on it. The Tiger2 is a 46size and my OS46AX is just about perfect, power wise.
Since your Tiger is a 60, it ought to be excellent with the 61FX. It won't come close to ever being short of power. You would be wasting the 91 on it. Find something it's better suited for and use it there.
I wouldn't bother with the 70 four stroke. First off, you got the perfect engine for the Tiger60. Secondly, the 70FS isn't anywhere close to being right for the airplane. Would it fly it? Yeah, but you'd be wasting time. It's really better suited for 46size airplanes and not well suited for 60size.
With the perfect engine in hand, use it.

Thanks Darock,I just noticed the 91 makes almost 1more hp at only 1 ounce more with same footprint . You are right ;if I don't need it I'm just wasting the motor. Ok now what props should I try with this combo? Got to be lot of Tiger 60's with OS61FX out there. THANKS for the help. RACJ

While there's nothing wrong with an O.S. Max .61 FX, why not consider the Super Tigre G-75? You can gain an extra 10% of horsepower for only three ounces of extra weight, and you'll save $50 versus the price of the O.S. Max .61 FX. Either one should spin a 13x6 propeller and provide you with terrific sport performance.

I already have the OS61 nib and the OS91used. I don't want to buy any more motors. Got to figure out plane for the OS91 now. THANKS,RACJ

The OS 46AX engines have tons of power in their size range but the 61 is only mediocre power wise. A 13-6 prop on the OS 61 really loads it down. I would go for an APC 12-7 instead. You would get a quick take off with a 13-6 but not much speed and it takes a few seconds to wind up when you go from say half to full throttle. [8D]

You might try a 12x6 or 13x4 - both work on the 61. The 91 would be good on the 60 size ultrastick or twist. I use a 13x8 on my 91fx but have used a 14x6 as well.

Thanks guys, this info gives me a great starting point. I'm still flying my trainer so this will be the first plane that I set up completely to fly, trainer was RTF used and required no set up from me. RACJ

I'm glad to see comment about the OS91 being good on ultra stick. Instructor just advised me to get a stick model of some kind instead of going to Tiger60 as my second plane. THANKS,RACJ

Hmm, I can't imagine that a stick would be better than a Tiger 60. I haven't flown a stick but I have flown a Tiger and they are excellent flying planes.

I've already got the Tiger60;Idefinitely wanted one after reading these threads. Our field lands either uphill or down hill and rolls side to side(grass field) so instructor says after I can land the stick, he will show me 1or2 aerobatics on Saturdays and then I can practice these during week by myself. More margine of error to land high wing stick on our field. Then I'll go to the Tiger60. I guess theres worse things in life than owning a Ultra Stick and a Tiger 60.
THANKS,RACJ
