Well usually the more control the better.
Usually the difference between 3 and 4 channel radios is aileron or roll axis control.
To turn a three axis plane, you must have a lot of dihedrel (upward bend) in the wing.
With the application of rudder, the plane will yaw to teh right and usually decend. The Dihedrel keeps the plane up right.
With the 4 channel radio, you can roll the plane at an angle then use elevator to pull it through a turn.

Just remember 4 channel gives you more control than 3. 3 channel gives you more control than 2.

al salam alaikum ,

thank you for the fast reply ... so i understand that the 3 ch has 2 servos one for alieron and one for the tail ? how about the elvator ?
4 ch has three ..one for each !

so when they say the glider is 3 ch .. that means one for elvator and one for tail? or elvator and alieron ?

i am considering this electric glider to be my first airplane.. please advise

Most 3-ch planes are Throttle, Elevator, and Rudder

Some are Throttle, elevator, and aileron.

3 channel glider is elevator, ailerons, and spoiler or elevator, rudder, and spoiler.
This glider has elevator, rudder, and throttle.
You will not have aileron control. You will need to ensure that the wing lift is balance and wing weight is balance to get it to fly level.

Not to confuse the issue:
You said in your original post you are considering an electric glider. This means it has an electric motor (mostly used just to get altitude) and that means one of the channels will be to control the motor.
any additional channels would be flight surfaces. Yes I too agree 4 channel is better than 3.
To go a step farther, a computer transmitter with at least 6 channels would be recommended (even for a 3 channel plane) the transmitter would serve you well on many other models in the future.

Soaring is a fantastic hobby that will provide you with countless hours of fun. Welcome!

My advice is to get a radio with as many channels as you can afford.
For an electric glider a minimum of 3 channels are needed (elevator, rudder and motor control).

If you get hooked by this wonderful hobby you will soon want to try aileron equipped aircraft. Nowadays it's common practice to use one servo for each aileron making for a total of 5 channels (elevator, rudder, 2xailerons and throttle). You will find several 6 channel computer radios to choose between at reasonable prices.

An advanced glider will often use 8 channels (or more) for rudder, elevator, 2 ailerons, 2 flaps, throttle and retractable landing gear.

Make sure that you get rechargable batteries with your radio, because even with a glider for beginners flight times can easily exceed 1/2 hour per flight.

That said, my first radio was a 3-channel radio, because I couldn't afford anything better at that time. It served me well :-).

thank you all for your help!

i really dont want to have the disadvantage of not being able to roll or the disadvantage of not being ble to do a tight turn...a horizantal loop ? i would like to find an electric glider for less than 150 USD because of where i live and i do not want to have the risk of having my plane taken by an unaware of the regulations police officer...please help me pick the right plane for me..

Here is a thought for you, contact some other flyers in your area and see where they fly, perhaps there is a sanctioned club nearby.
Click on the memberlist button near the top of this page then narrow search by location (Egypt) and by area of interest (airplanes) I just did that and found 43 members of RC Universe in Egypt.

This one doesn't have an electric motor but may meet your needs.
