Default Retracts for a 40 size p-47

Looking for a sturdy set of retracts for a 40 size p-47. Some thing on a working mans budget.

Try www.retracts.com. Spring Air Retracts. Very good, very reasonable, unlike some, they will fall if you lose
air pressure.

If not then use a set of hobbico mechanicals, I have a couple sets with no problems for a long time. $20 plus a $30 retract servo.

You may want to consider a set of these. Good Luck, Dave

Am I the only one feeling slightly alarmed because this thread is on the Beginner's forum?

Good move, I did a search on this guy and only a month ago he was asking about trainers and he is ready to take the "plunge"

ARF's have gotten darned good, simulators have gotten amazingly good and there are now two generations of kids who grew up with joysticks and electronic controlers. BUT . . . retracts don't have much "play" and a bouncy landing can be expensive. A P-47 WILL bite you if you try and land too slow. Try and slap it down and the retract servos become wing spoilers - if the gear doesn't fold up or tear off first.

Not knowing the particulars I can't say if any pilot I haven't seen fly is ready for retracts and a low-wing warbird, but if you're not then be warned that the School of Hard Knocks gets very steep tuition and will be tough on any "working man's budget".

Well I want to say thanks for the kind words and to those of you that actually gave me some good ideas. Since I have been flying my P-51 I just wanted to try another war bird.

Robarts are popular too.

Is that the H9 P-51 PTS? Are you flying it with all the training aids off?
Best of luck
