JR SPORT 6-CHANNEL SYSTEM MD2
JR SX600 Sport Radio
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...dID=JSP16000**
Any thoughts/opinions on this radio?
Anyone know how it compares to an equivalent Futaba radio and which one that would be?
Looking for a simple/basic first time radio.

This is essentially the same as the JR 662, except it costs less (about $100 less) and does more (10 model memory instead of 6). An excellent first or second radio and certainly a best buy. I ran a 662 for a couple of years, the only thing I didn't like about it was I paid too much for it, just before the 6102 came out. (I have the 6102, now.)
It deserves your consideration.

I'm looking at the 6102 and the Futaba 6EXAS as well, but really like the price of the SX600. Any other opinions on the SX600?

The 6102 is a great radio. I have had one for a few months now but I must admit I'm starting to outgrow it already. I need the ability to mix 2 aileron servos as well as 2 elevator servos on the same model and the 6102 won't do both. It'll do either or..but not both.

I believe a Y-harness is enough for elevator servos... or doesn't it work?
What are you going to mix in here exactly? you wanna use them as ailerons?

The sx600 is a very good basic radio, it has Dual rates, Exponential and throttle cut. I have one and love it. For $160.00 new you can't go wrong.

ST47 jr servos get the job done. They are not ball bearing servos, but you wanted a basic first time radio. Yes the 6102 is a better radio, but if you really don't have the extra $100 to $150 to spend on a first radio, then sx600 will do fine.

Well I envision this first bird remaining the full time family trainer and want a basic radio to stay with it. Looks like the SX600 will fill that role.
Thanks,
