Default Tower Hobbies .75 2-Stroke

Hello, I'm thinking of getting one of the tower 75's. I have the 46 an 61 an both are great engines. The 61 has more power than the O.S 61. But i have had no time with the 75 an i was hopeing someone would have had some time with it. I am planing on putting it on a real clean plane(shoestring type). I think it would pull it around ok. But i'm worried about the reliability of it an what size a prop would it swing......

Any thoughts on this subject would be great...

Great engine, long lasting and a idle you won't believe. I would rate it a 10 of all the engine I have and I've been in this sport since the sixties. Jim

I love my Tower 75. A real stump puller, and reliable as all get out. You can't go wrong.

I wish they made a 1.20 size engine.

I have mine on a Morris Su-Do-Khoi and you can't beat it. It's reliable and strong. I think I have a 13-6 on it.

Will it spine something like a 14x8?Wonder why these engines are not real popular? Cause they don't say YS,O.S., OR ENYA......I hope it works as well as the 61 i have its great. Is 15%cool power a good fuel for these motors? An does it have enough oil in it for this type of engine?

Have had several problems with Futaba. Have a RD6000 and 8000, not a glitch.

ITs a 2 stroke, not a 4 stroke so a 14-8 would be way too much prop!!! I tried a TH 75 on my Kaos 60 to test the engine. It proved to be very reliable and has gobs of power. Thats why I selected it to pull my Stuka 60 around. That was 3 years ago and its still pulling like new and it has never dead sticked on me!! I like the engines so much I bought 2 more and don't even have planes for them yet!! My opinion, its the best 60 size engine you can buy!

75 is a winner and will put the 12X8 13X6 props well.

Fastsky, Buzz. Thanks for the prop tips. The only reason i was thinking such a big high pitch, is cause its going to be on a real clean shoestring. I ordered it i can't wait for it to get here. I have a 61 an it is awsome, way more power than an os

2 strokes like to rev up and having too large a prop will only load up the engine and make it run too hot. The wind up time from low throttle to high throttle will take longer with larger props and could spell trouble for your plane when you suddenly need more power. Let us know how you like the Shoestring. I had one given to me that was made from plans and it was a heavy pig! [8D]
