I have two of these receivers, but I only use them on small electrics. They are single conversion with a limited range. Personally, I would not use them on a nitro plane, I don't think they would stand up well to the vibrations.

In answer to your question, yes you can plug the switch, battery pack, or voltwatch into any available channel. Be sure to always plug in the battery the right way, there are reports of them being very sensitive to polarity.
