I painted the pilot in my arc jupiter using some humbrol paint but am not sure how i should protect it from the fuel. Can anyone tell me what i should use and where i could get it in the UK.

Most any kind of clear-coat finish, either brush-on or spray-on, should do. You could also use a clear fuel-proof dope such as Aero Gloss. You should be able to find clear-coat paint at the same place you bought the humbrol paint.

I would not trust Aero Gloss being compatible with Humbrol. I don't know the airplane. if enclosed, no need to worry. If open cockpit just use some polyurethane clear and you are in fat city. Most any home or paint store has poly, in gloss, flat, or satin.

AG is a paint all to itself. Expensive and not worth the effort, and will not go over most other paints.

I have never used humbrol paint but I am familiar with the Jupiter and I would suggest trying a test strip of the paint and coat it with Clear fingernail polish, cheap and easy to find. And if you wipe the pilot off after each days flights you shouldn't have any problems.

I don't know if you are a regular flyer or new at it but I think you will like your Jupiter. I just lost mine because of a broken linkage after about 5 years. It was probably my fault as I really flew the crap out of it and probably over stresed it, one of my favorites.

The Jupiter is an ABS plastic plane and the pilot figure is molded right into the fuse, ( open cockpit ) a real nice touch by the Italians.

ENJOY !!! RED
