Default Re: Read my Current Post in Bigginers.

If you read my current post in bigginers tittled Soloed, No Trainer No teacher, it will give my personal insight. -- Dennis Spyridakos
I agree -- Dennis' experiences are worth checking out... there's much more in there than the thread title could cover, so don't be mislead, but I think most of us can learn a little or at least add another data point based on them. To that end, here's the link: http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...608&forumid=22

And now a war story with which to check one's perspective: when I used to teach sailing, wenever possible, I used a particular type of boat that is very responsive and very prone to capsizing... in short it was the kind of boat that many instructors try to protect their students from. It was also very easy to handle without assistance, very easy to turn back right-side-up, and VERY educational. So whose students do you suppose had a faster learning time and got more performance out of their boats? Yes, mine, of course -- at least the successful ones.

Just like a less stable and/or more speedy/responsive training plane, my sialboat training platform was totally unsuited to some students and flying -- er, I mean sailing -- a much more stable boat -- or airplane -- was the only thing that would give them the confidence needed to succeed. So, there's more than one way to skin a cat... but some ways are not suitable for some users and there's probably no single way that's suitable for every user.

Most may want too go with the odds and avoid the method that worked well for Dennis, but leads to failure for a great majority of its users..
