Default Micro Receiver/Servo Question

I'm looking to install a micro receiver and 5 micro servos on a plane. My question is:
Can I just use a standard size receiver and just buy micro servos?
Also,
There are lots of micro servos on ebay that have no particular brand, has anyone tried these and are they worth the savings?
Thanks...I'm new to this micro thing!

What kind and size plane are you working on? Sure, the micro servos will work with a std Rx, although the connectors on some really small servos aren't compatible with a standard size Rx. But, if you're using micro servos because the plane is very small, then the std Rx may take up more space than you can afford or weigh more than you'd want. If your plane is larger and the std Rx fits fine, are the micro servos strong enough (torque) for the application?

I've had very good luck with Berg's. I've got the 7 channel and (2) MicrosSamp 4L 4 channel receivers. You can program them to a failsafe mode even if you fly AM or FM so they emulate PCM's in failsafe. I fly them with Hitec HS-55 and HS-81 servos. I've flown the 7 ch in a powered glider style to over 1000' altitude and it had no reception issues with a Futaba 7C transmitter.

I agree with Hogflyer, I like the Berg Microstamp HiTec servos ,and the other good servos are E-flite S75 or S60[sm=thumbs_up.gif]. stay away from Cirrus and GWS[sm=thumbs_down.gif]. The Cirrus are glued together (I've had more than one fall apart) and the GWS strip out gears if you breath on them to hard!I did strip a gear on an S75 but it was a large control surface, and I did it banging it on a door jam.[sm=angry_smile.gif]Not a big deal because the gear set is only a couple of dollers and the servos are screwed together.
