Hi there all,
Here comes my another thread with another question for all you experienced & expert flyers.
Which are the best standard servos for 40 to 60 to 90 size trainer or mid winger planes.
1. JR NES 537
2. Futaba S3004
3. Hitec HS311 (which I bought 4 servos for my 60 size mid-winger plane)
Hitec's are the cheapest in price then comes Futaba then comes JR which are most expensive. Are those Hitec servos good value to price as well as durable and good performance?
Please advice
Thanks again very much in advance
Happy flying

I know that you didn't list them, but I'll throw them into the discussion (just to be fair!!)
Airtronics 94102 servos as they standard servos for use in Airtronics radios. I a ton of these servos (they are the majority of what I use) and I've never had a bit of trouble. My GP Slow Poke has 5 Airtronics servos in it and I have 400+ flights on the plane. I have other Airtronics servos that have over 800 flights on them. And before you ask, yes I can track the number of flights on servos. I use a program called [link=http://www.lammers.ca/FlightLog]Flight Log[/link] that lets me track the flights on all of my planes and related equipment (i.e. receivers, engines, servos, batteries, etc...), so I do know how many flights I have on all of my servos.
Hope this helps
Ken

I'm a JR guy, especially when it comes to radios, BUT... I agree with Ken. Airtonics STANDARD servos are rock-solid. If you want high-torque digitals, get JR or Futaba. But, I ran the same Airtronics standard servos in my first 3 planes until I moved to larger, more demanding airframes and flying styles. I still have those servos.....somewhere...

I've personally never used the Airtronics or Hitec (except for HS-55 micro servos) so I really can't comment on them but the Futaba S-3004 and JR ST47BB both perform great for a good price.

For my part, I have been using Futaba S3004s for almost a year, and never had a problem with any of them. I think I have about 12 sitting around.

This has been said before but I throw in my vote
Im a JR guy also, but I have 14 year old Airtronics servos, but i think Airtronics even more $$ than JR.

I have moved up to 3010's. Too often I find I need a higher torque servo and decided a while ago to just start using them for all things so I don't have to go hunting for a specific servo. The only "specialized" servos I have are a couple of micro's for air retract valves, and a couple of aileron (shallow) servos for mounting in the tail of a plane.
