Found out the meaning of yard dart, unfortunately the first day I got the plane. The plane was a Flyzone cessna 182 and was a poor choice for me, straight in the soft grass.
Question, what's another plane(trainer) that I can throw the electronics into and have another flyer. I don't want to replace the fuselage on the cessna, too squirly for me for I did fly it about 8 minutes. Preferably a foam or wood and possibly a slow stick. The electronics are tactic 4 channel radio, tactic receiver, 15a esc and 3 micro servos, and a 370 motor.
Thanks

I've been flying the wings off a 3ch skyfly and was trying a 4ch supposedly trainer. I do have an instructor thats going to help me fly my alpha 40 this spring.
How about this plane except it recommends a 20amp esc and mine is 15amp.

johntammi,
I'd hold off getting a replacement for the EP park flyer for now. Wait until you start flying your Alpha with your instructor and you soon find you'll want something a bit more maneuverable for a park flyer. After you've gotten comfortable with the Alpha and learned some basic aerobatics you'll have a better idea of the kind of park flyer that would best suite you.

No recommendation but if you do replace it, have an experienced pilot get the plane up to a safe altitude BEFORE you start flying it. Don't even think about landing it until you can fly it reliably at altitude. False pride will just run up the expenses.

The anti crash is not very good. If you fly over water (and I assume snow cover would be the same) the unit goes wild and will guarantee a crash. In local experioence with two of them, both had to be disabled in order to fly the plane.

If you have learned to fly a 3 channel aircraft you will need some help in learning to fly a 4 channel airplane. flying a four channel trainer is not too different from a 3 channel but if you remove some of the dihedral you will notice the difference and if you try to fly a mid wing pattern aircraft your reflexes for flying a 3 channel can prove fatal. I watched a fairly good pilot who could fly 3 channel well get flipped on his side by a gust of wind then he hit his rudder like always to level it out and all it did was point his nose up but he was still in knife edge till he hit the ground. You need an instructor until you can program your reflexes for 4 channel ops or you might have a few repairs coming

I think the plane was too heavy for wing area, too small and very quick when using aileron.
I'm staying away from 4 channel til I learn to fly my alpha 40 with my instructor this spring.
