Default clevis ends

I would like to warn all new to this sport about switching from the nylon clevis to metal on most arf's.The arf's come with METRIC threads and ARE NOT compatable with our standard 2-56 and 4-40 threads. If you plan on threading your on rods, make sure you use large enough wire to get FULL thread depth. You will find,or at least I have, most 2-56 And 4-40 clevis' are too loose on most arf supplied push rods.I thread my own and I actually found a coat hanger wire just about the right size.(not the ones painted white)I use 1/8" welding rod for my 4-40 rods. The 1/8" is just a little large, but if you taper the end you can get the die started. Also even some push rods mfged.in this country are too small to thead. The type you buy already threaded are usually roll threaded which is a method that rolls the theads in and actually raises the metal up some. Die cutting threads on the otherhand, removes metal and the end size is smaller than the rolled thread.
