O.k. heres my situation

I have an hitec optic 6 radio system an a 4 star powered by a magnum 52 4 stroke. Whats happening is when I throttle up on the stick, full throttle is reached when the stick is only a little more than half way. If this was any other channel I would just add some expo and it would fix the problem but with it being the channel for throttle expo is not an option. Now I could fly it as is and just keep in mind that half way on the sticks is full throttle but I would rather have it were full throw on the stick is full throttle. Any advise????

To reduce throw, at the servo end move the connector closer to the center or at the control surface (or engine) end, move the connector further from center. Once you get it setup close mechanically, you can use the transmitter's end point adjustment feature to fine tune it.

I'm not familiar with the hitec radio, but if you can, work with the end points and sub trim.

First though, you need to make sure your linkage is set up correctly. At mid point, you want the servo arm to be at 90 degrees to the pushrod/cable. At this same setting, you want your throttle arm to be at mid point and also at 90 to the pushrod/cable. This will give you the best linear movement. On the 4* I'm just finishing, the throttle cable approaches the servo about 15 degrees off centerline. If I set the servo arm so it is 90 degrees to the center line, the my travel is all on one end of servo rotation. This drove me nuts on my trainer.

You put a wheel on the servo, and pull the rod or cable so it just touches the edge of the wheel, that point is where you want the servo arm to point when the servo is centered. You probably don't have the ability to make as much adjustment at the carb, but you want the same relationship, or as close as you can get.

On a computer radio, set your linkage so when servo is centered, the throttle arm is centered, then use your end point adjsutments to set full open and full closed without any binding of the linkage. should not hear servo buzz at any time in the throw. If you can't get the end points close to full throw, adjust you linkage to different hole untill you can. The other thing is you might not have enough prop on that motor and its reving up to quickly. You should be somewhare between 9K and 10K static ready to fly.

The only time I've had this happen is when I've tried to use too much end point travel. have you already set your EPA for much past 100%? if so, this is your problem. As suggested, reset the endpoints to 100% (high and low) and then fix it mechanically so that it will travel as close to both ends as possible. Then FINE TUNE the travel with the EPA--and try to get as much EPA on the bottom as the top. In other words, if you have 80 on low, then try to make it where 80 on high gives you full throttle. Again, much of this is accompllished through mechanical setup. having it close to the same on both ends helps give you more of a linear (proportional) feel to the throttle movement.

I am wondering about your question. When you say full throttle has been reached do you mean that the throttle barrel has reached its end of travel. This problem mean that you are going to have to adjust the linkage manually like the previous poster have said. If you mean that the throttle power curve is not acting linearly even though you still have movement available in the throttle barrel then you have to put expo on the throttle to linearlize the throttle stick movement. This does not supersede manually correcting the throttle linkage throw. expoing the throttle only makes it feel linear and having more fine control in the beginning of the power curve and consistent power increase through the last few clicks of the throttle control. This is my prefered settings but others might not want to do these things

not enough throw Solution: move control rod further from the servo and closer to the control horn

Too much(your case) Solution: move control rod closer to servo and further from the control horn
