anyone flying one of these models i was wondering if a os40fx would pull this around fine. it calls for a .40 2stroke and a .48 four stroke i want to stay away from the four strokes right now. the wing span is 63in fuselage length is 47in and flying weight is 5.5lbs well any input would be good thanks mike

that engine should be fine in that cub. The wing generates a lot of lift. Cubs are not known for speed. And if you are intersted in flying it in a scale like manner then you will be flying off the wing and not the engine...
Enjoy your cub I have two modeltech with an fp-25 in it and a hanger 9 with an OS .91 in it (I know not scale but I needed to break in the engine and I liked being able to take off in five feet so much I just left it in)

I have one it has a 72 saito on it extremely fun. you will find it lands gentle but be prepared to be ready for manuvaring. Once you get the tail down piece of cake. On take off it doesnt do anything funny it goes where you point it. As for the 40 should be ok it is a very good flyer you should enjoy it.
