yes the "major" store chains sometimes will match prices here also,they can afford too, one apple is .23 and the other is .20.
big difference when the LHS is the only one in the area and afording too means staying in buisness or not you can't fault the LHS there is alot of overhead the internet doesn't have to pay for, simple stuff plenty of buisness are drying up over internet sales, a sad sign of the times.

Living in Canada we are sometimes at a disadvantage because when you order from the big box stores (tower, Horizon) you get nailed at the border. Same when you order from Nitroplanes or AK planes. However there are some things that big LHS in Edmonton Alberta (hobbywholesale) i can buy cheaper than tower. In fact a Hitec flight pack with 4 425 servos and a 7 channel reciever with switch and battery is lower in CAD than tower is in USD now figure that one out. Same thing with SSE kits they are 88CAD from HH and the same from Tower with the conversion. On some things Tower kills everyone other things not. I have pretty much ordered everything i can online because after a couple of discussions with the LHS in Saskatoon (1 1/2 hours away) he is not willing to deal at all. their price on an OS .46 max is 219.00 and in Edmonton it is 119 and i only have to pay one tax instead of 2 plus they will ship it for free if my total purchase goes over 150. If he would even make an effort to try i would be inclined to buy from him but he doeas not. I am in the retail business and realise that you have to make money but his prices in saskatoon are outrageous because he is the only game in town. My hobby budget is limited and i will spend where i can get the most for my money. I have often thought about moving to the city and opening up a hobby shop (DREAMING!!!!).
