I have just completed my first ARF. She's a beaut.

Thanks to everyone who helped with comments or suggestions in my many threads putting this together... A special thanks to Ken, Bruce, and of course Vertigo who really helped out via msn even.

Here she is in all her pride and joy.

Did you remember to seal the hinge lines with clear MonoKote or box tape?

Did you remember to protect the trim on the muffler side of the airplane with clear nail polish to fuel proof it?

Did you remember to check the throws and dial them back to the recommended settings?

Did you remember to check the control rods for smooth, free movement?

Looks great, looking forward to hearing about your maiden flight!

It'll be a while before I maiden it but I might get a little taxi time out this weekend and some running of the engine to break it in. Finally suppose to see our first temperatures above freezing starting tomorrow. Minus 20 celsius right now out here. Yep it's cold. I'm going out with another flyer but he won't be flying it either. The third guy(the guy that I will be flying with on a buddy box is pretty busy with his business right now so I don't know when we'll get to maiden her. Maybe inside of the next 3 or 4 weeks.

I still have to balance the aircraft, we're going to do that tonight at my fellow flyer's house. he uses pool cues to balance it. Showed me how it works and it's actually pretty interesting how he does it. Guess it works, he has 5 or 6 aircraft and all of em are still in one piece LOL

Pool cues? That sounds interesting. If you can, snap a few pics and share his technique with us. I'm always up for learning new tricks.

Just substituting the cues for the fingers many use or the upright supports on mfg balancers. No mystery here. Further for the plane to fall if it slips off though.[:@]
