Actually I'm a contractor, so I can stay as long as I want. Right now, I'm pretty happy here. Not planing on leaving anytime soon. No one will pay me this well in the states. :-)
I know what you mean. I got out of the service after Germany. If I had bothered to learn the language I would have stayed in Europe. I loved it over there.

I suggest you buy a european radio. I'm pretty sure if you use a buddy box, you can fly one mode while your instructor flies the other. If you decide to come back stateside, then I doubt it's a real big deal to have the frequency band in the tx changed. You just need a new receiver after that and the rest of the flight pack will still work with it.
