Just got my first flight on a Model Tech Magic. I have been flying a TT T-2000 Trainer and this was my first flight on a different plane. All I have to say is WOW! I even landed it...... Any of you guys flying a Magic????? Let me know what you guys think about this plane. I love it so far.
Thanks,
Alex

congrats!!!
Magic was also my second plane, flies very slow and predictable with the rates down low, only thing it does not do too well is knife edge. The covering will start to peal, I have 50 or so flights on mine, and the landing gear if flimsy, (mine just broke a few weeks ago). Other than that its a great little plane thats a blast to fly. You can do a search on RCU and find quite a bit of info on this plane.

Thanks! Yea the landing gear just plain SUCKS! I landed mine today for the first time and did not have a hard landing and lost a screw out of the plastic straps that hold the gear on and the gear was bent a little too........ Since it was the first flight on the plane and also my first time flying a plane like this I had a VERY experienced pilot trim it out for me. He said that I landed great but somehow it still bent it a little........... this seems to be a common complaint with the Magic. I saw some carbon fiber landing gear made specifically for the Magic..... maybe I'll have to check it out.
Thanks,
Alex

Alex,
Yep it was the plastic landing gear mounts that gave out on me too. If your interested in the carbon fiber mounts you can get them here

They will even save a little bit of weight over stock gear.

bholden - Congatulations on your success!
I've never flown the Magic, but there's a guy at our field who has one. First time he flew it ripped out the gear. He said it wasn't reinforced at all. He replaced the gear with a CF gear and reinforced it. Next time he flew it ripped out the gear again.
I suggested he mount a second gear on the top of the plane so he can get at least two flights a day.

Just ordered the CF gear...... at least if I rip it off, I can put it back on and it won't be bent all to hell...... like the idea of 2 sets of gear!!!!!!!
