Default G4 vs. AFP flight sim questions...

The flying sims have improved a great deal over previous versions and from reading the I think I should be looking at the G3 or the Aerofly. Price wise, they are similiar so that isn't an issue. Is there additional planes that you can get over the net without spending an extra $30.00 per set?? Is the 2 pilots flying at the same time better on one or the other and has anyone tried flying the G3 with other pilots online at the same time?? Appreciate any feedback on this.

I have G3.5, but may not be the best to answer your questions as I am new. I enjoy the program and I got additonal planes from the knife edge site. You might want to ask RF3/3.5 questions there. [link=http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/]Knife Edge[/link]. But I do know you can do multi player flys and additonals planes are available on that site.

I've downloaded a number of free extra planes for Real Flight G3.5. The folks at 2dogrc.com created a free download of their new Dualsky Challenger foamy bipe to fly with G3 and it's quite a lot of fun. I downloaded a giant Edge 540, and somebody modeled a Hangar 9 Ultrastick for Real Flight (shocking, I know) that has the crow functionality built in.

You don't have to pay $30 per shot for expansion packs, but in Real Flight's defense, I've purchased four of their add-ons so far and each time I've been quite satisfied that I'd gotten more than my money's worth.

Aerofly Professional Deluxe now comes with their first expansion pack included with the simulator. I'd kind of like to buy a copy of APD, too, because my home flying field is one of the add-on flying sites in the expansion.

I fly with the Omahawks (http://www.omahawks.org) and somebody created a photo field of our flying site at Standing Bear Lake here in Omaha and imported it to Aerofly Professional Deluxe. The developers must have liked it, because not only did it wind up in the expansion pack, but they even used screen shots of our simulated field in their magazine ads a few months ago.

It's a hoot being able to fly on your field while using the sim!

I checked lots of more posts and have bitten the $$ bullet. I ordered the AeroFly Commander and look forward to trying it out. [8D]
