Hello folks,
I have been putting together AFRs for some time now and want to build an airplane just for the heck of it all. I have noticed on my retract models that they have a mount built in on them that makes the retracts screw right in. Same with servo trays. Does anyone know of a balsa supplier that offers retract mounts amd servo trays like these?
Thanks!

If you are building a kit, these parts are die cut from the kit maker. Some kits might take a few pieces of balsa and hardwood to get the part made into the needed shape. I am not aware of any suppliers of these parts that are pre made, however you may want to check out the web sites for Balsa USA and Lone Star Balsa and see if they offer anything that might work. Good Luck, Dave

Hi!
Servo trays are easily made from 3mm plywood. You just saw out were the servos are.
Same with retract beams. Coulkd be made of 4-6mm plywood or just hard-wood beams.

If not supplied with the kit just cut from 1/4" plywood for 40-60 size planes. dimensions vary depending on plane and type of gear used so difficult to provide universal mounting plate.

You said you want to build, but you didn't say whether or not it would be a Kit or a scratch-build. I would HIGHLY recommend a Kit. There are a lot of hidden things that go on during a build that a good kit with good instructions will have already figured out for you.
And Like Dave said, all the parts will already be there.
