Servo Question

Purchased a used Futaba(Conquest) radio and servo set for my SIG-LT40 kit, all seems to work just fine, question- what are the real differences in some of these servo's. I have a set of FP-S28'S and SP48'S, the weight seem's different like one has more windings than the others. I don't know, never took one apart for a look see. Hobby shop said they will work just fine, I would just like to know the difference. Is there a prescribed or adopted order in regard to which channel run's what on my reciever?. As a side note, when I install my remote tank filler should there be a check valve installed anywhere? like in the line to the muffler so fuel won't get accidently pumped in. Thank's for any input. the s148 is the "standard" servo and can be used on whatever you want for the lt-40.
I dont see a problem for any of the servos you have, its just one is older than the other.
as for channel assignment.
1 is ailerons
2 is elevator
3 is throttle
4 is rudder
5 is usually gear
6 is usually flaps
7 is usually second aileron
5,6,7,(8,9) can be used for whatever you want if your radio has that functionality.
there is no check valve on the tanks vent line... fuel inside the muffler wont hurt anything (unless you pour it out onto your carpet then you spouse/parent/SO might do damage

Appreciate the info, got hooked up a with a good club that has a nice 5 acre field. Been going through the paces with the G2 simulator. Final destination is warbirds with any luck. Thank's Jerry

The 2 digit numbered Futaba servos (S48, S28 etc.) are the older "G" style connectors. The 3 digit (S148) are "J" style connectors. Make sure your TX & RX are narrow band. Your RX is narrow band if it is a 3 digit model # (R114, R117, R118), if it is a 2 digit it is not narrow band and not approved for use. Your TX should have a gold sticker on the back with a date on it. Is you system AM or FM? These are very reliable units.
