CG edge 540 Questions
My son just got an Edge, although I have put together several ARF's this one is little more advanced than any thing I've done so far . Sooooooooo I've got a few questions. First, it calls for an inverted engine. I have a OS 91 2 stroke set up for horizontal with pitts muffler will this be OK ? Next, it has a 2 servo elevator set up. His radio does'nt have that function so he got a reversing Y-harness. Do you use that like a regular Y-harness only one servo works in reverse? And whats that little screw in the eletronic part of it. Does that sinc the servos? And just one more for now. It also has a pull-pull rudder. Do I need to cross the cables between the servo and the control horns? I know there will be more questions later but that is all for now Thanks

First, it calls for an inverted engine. I have a OS 91 2 stroke set up for horizontal with pitts muffler will this be OK ? This should be fine as long as it fits well.
Next, it has a 2 servo elevator set up. His radio does'nt have that function so he got a reversing Y-harness. Do you use that like a regular Y-harness only one servo works in reverse? That's what would happen.
And whats that little screw in the eletronic part of it. Does that sinc the servos? Not sure, read the instructions. Probably adjusts centering of one servo.
And just one more for now. It also has a pull-pull rudder. Do I need to cross the cables between the servo and the control horns? It can be done either way.
I know there will be more questions later but that is all for now Thanks

RE: CG edge 540 Questions
The "screw" is a small pot ( Potentiometer ).
It varies the resistance to the the electronics.
Yes it is used to center the two servos.
Frankly when I've used this type of setup I've found that you must adjust the pot at every trip to the field.
There are some servo reversers ( more expensive types... ) that handle this in a digital manner, and instead of a pot, they feature a digital switch instead.
I've tried what you have and disliked it.
I have not tried the more expensive variety.

Bruce , I bought the harness new but the only instructions in it just give the wiring diagram of the connectors. positive, negative and messenger positions. Nothing about the little screw.
